You can reach Sailfish on Fraser by sea or air. From Urangan Boat Harbour
where you can watch the whales in season, drive to Sailfish through the lush
rainforest that abounds with Satinay and Brush Box, Kauri Pines and Piccabeen
Palms. A 4WD is essential and these are available for hire at Hervey Bay,
Rainbow Beach and on Fraser Island.
Air Fraser Island provides a 20 minute scenic flight from Hervey Bay across
the Sandy Straits to the island. The flight lands at Happy Valley, almost
adjacent to Sailfish on Fraser.
There are barge services from Hervey Bay and Rainbow Beach to Moon Point
and Inskip Point, a 50 - 60 minute 4WD trip to Sailfish on Fraser. Bus transfers
by Top Tours are available from Moon Point to Happy Valley.
Fraser Island is 3 1/2 hours north of Brisbane by car, and 4 1/2 hours from
the Gold Coast.
